Weddings Unlimited, Inc. is a professional wedding planning service, serving primarily the Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area. A satellite office is currently opened in Houston, Texas. Destination wedding planning is also available. It represents the client only. Guidance and assistance are provided to the wedding party in the areas of consultation, coordination and "day of" micro-management.

What does Weddings Unlimited Do?
Joyce C. Smith is the principal of Weddings Unlimited, Inc. She is recognized as the premier wedding planner for greater Cincinnati. She combines a formal education in theatre arts with effective project management to help the wedding party create, live and enjoy the event they want. An extensive data base of pre-qualified vendors is used to develop a visional "team" and carry out the wedding plans.

There are three basic categories of services which are highly customizable to fit your personal needs:
- Consultant: Creatively define and select your best options.
- Coordinator: Manage the services providers prior to the event.
- Wedding Day Director: Micro-manages the "day-of" the rehearsal and wedding, through the close of the reception.
Those services are available as a package or singularly. Whatever you choose, Joyce Smith's agreement is with the wedding party only. She is your professional representative, providing assistance independently of any service providers. You make learned decisions instead of being a "first time buyer."

An important issue is: YOU ARE IN CHARGE. You make the final choices and decisions. First, Joyce Smith sits down with you and determines what you want to do and provides general guidance. Then you are provided recommendations and ranges of options for each specific area of the wedding.

After you have made your basic decisions, potential pre-qualified vendors that work well as a "team" are selected. You are given time-effective, targeted options. If needed, appointments will be arranged for you.

You start with a realistic budget. Best-value "team" vendors are chosen. Needed items are not overlooked. Budget busters are avoided. Duplicated costs are eliminated.

"Everyone enjoyed the wedding - except the bride (or her mother)" - a sad, but often told tale. Weddings are made up of many separate, specialized vendors. Joyce brings the "team" all together. You are free to enjoy your day without having to micro-manage it.
History:
Joyce Smith, the principal of Weddings Unlimited, founded the business after conducting a family wedding. The need to creatively and effectively bring together many different facets of a wedding was readily apparent in her entrepreneurial vision.
Experience:
She has successfully provided wedding planning services for well over a decade to a broad array of clients, including Grammy Award winner Peter Frampton. At the Cincinnati Art Museum, Border's Books, Joseph Beth Bookstore and the Cincinnati Public Library, she has conducted professional seminars for prospective brides. Her comments and recommendations have been regularly reported in Cincinnati Wedding Magazine and the Cincinnati Enquirer. Recognized as a local authority, she has made featured appearances on Cincinnati TV stations, Channel 12 (CBS), Channel 9 (ABC) and Channel 19 (Fox). National Bridal Guide Magazine has interviewed her several times.
Education:
Her undergraduate degree is in theater arts from the University of Texas at Austin. She calls upon those skills in much the same way that a theatrical producer brings together a production. Creatively she can "see" what the wedding party wants to do. And like a good producer, she knows how to bring together the separate parts to make it happen.
Her graduate degree from Xavier - Cincinnati and postgraduate studies focused on administration. Effective budget and time line management stems from those studies.
Business Plan:
Her business plan was developed and confirmed under the guidance of a business accountant (CPA) and an attorney at law who specialize in small business affairs.
Professional Affiliations:
Joyce is fully accredited by and a Master Bridal Consultant™ of the Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC). She has taken all of the examinations and passed them with highest honors. In addition to attending and speaking at numerous event & bridal conferences, she provides mentoring services and training as the Ohio State Coordinator to novices in the ABC program.
Joyce is currently working with the University of Cincinnati to design a curriculum of courses for wedding planners.
As a charter member of the Cincinnati Chapter of the International Special Events Society, Joyce produced an elaborate wedding event that featured guest speaker Preston Bailey, a celebrity wedding and event planner.
Achievements:
The Knot 2007 Best of Weddings Magazine placed (rated by The Knot brides) Weddings Unlimited at the top of their list for our local community and across the nation.
Joyce is also a WeddingWire Bride's Choice Award recipient for 2011.

A Personal Glimpse
Joyce has a real passion for life and has plans to live to be 100. She met her husband and soul-mate on a blind date in college. Her kids and two grandchildren keep her busy being a chauffeur, mentor and active audience member at their sporting and school events. A family vacation planned between client weddings is a yearly must. With her two Siamese cats and a Sheltie she rounds out her family.
A "jet set" traveler as her family has tagged her, Joyce has traveled far and wide. She sees herself as a semi-pro photographer and often includes her photos in the website and blog. Born and bred in Houston, Texas, Joyce loves the ocean and travels to places where she can walk the shoreline and collect sea glass and shells, sleep to the roar of the waves, and is always on the look-out for the best locations for brides and grooms to wed and honeymoon.
